Nabulsi Cheese Breakfast

The breakfast plate that starts the day across the Levant — cheese, bread, olives, tomatoes and tea.

Total time
10 minutes
Serves
4

Ingredients

400 g Bader Nabulsi cheese
4 flatbreads
3 tomatoes, sliced
1 cucumber, sliced
1 cup olives
2 tbsp za’atar
Good olive oil
Fresh mint leaves

Method

  1. Lift the Nabulsi cheese from its brine and rinse briefly under cold water. Pat dry and slice into 1 cm pieces.
  2. Arrange the cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and olives on a large plate.
  3. Pour za’atar into a small dish and olive oil into another, for dipping the bread.
  4. Warm the flatbread, scatter mint over the plate, and put everything on the table at once with sweet tea.
