Fried Nabulsi Cheese

Golden outside, soft inside. The one dish that proves why Nabulsi is different from every other white cheese.

Total time
15 minutes
Serves
4

Ingredients

400 g Bader Nabulsi cheese
2 tbsp Bader cow ghee
1 lemon, cut into wedges
Fresh mint
Flatbread to serve

Method

  1. Slice the Nabulsi cheese 1 cm thick. Rinse under cold water to take the edge off the salt, then dry thoroughly — wet cheese will spit in the pan.
  2. Heat the ghee in a heavy frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Lay the slices in without crowding. Fry 2 minutes until a golden crust forms, then turn once and fry 1 minute more.
  4. Serve straight from the pan with lemon to squeeze over, mint, and bread.
